GENERAL

How does this work?

Browse the list of projects posted by Customers for the ones you would be insterested in, or have RenovateDirect send you an e-mail anytime a new project is posted that fits your Expertise. Then you can decide to place a quote on the project, as well as provide details of the work you can do. Update or retract your quote anytime you want. When the Customer chooses a Service Provider you will be notified. If you are chosen you can begin work on the project and get paid.

How much does this cost?

There is no signup fee and no commissions charged on Projects through RenovateDirect. We charge a small monthly subscription fee, which entitles you a one account receiving email notifications from us. You can submit unlimited Quotes, and Create Offers - which are emailed to all registered Customers and Service providers, and you are entitled to use our Job Listing board to post any vacancies at your organisation. Please speak to our Sales team for more details.

How do I communicate with Customers?

You can send messages through Renovatedirect, only the user it's addressed to will be sent the message via e-mail. Simply click on the Customer you want to contact, and click the "Email User" button.

PROJECTS AND BIDS

How do I place a quote on a project?

Simply click on the "Place Quote" button which you can find on the project page (there's one above and another below the list of current quotes).

How do I update a quote I already placed on a project?

Just submit a new quote and your old one will automatically be removed.

How do I cancel a quote I placed?

Log in to the account management area, find the project, and click on the "retract quote" link.

What if I have a question about a project (that will help me place my quote)?

Just send a message on the system. See "How do I contact Customers.

Why can't I find the "Place Quote" button on the project page?

If the project is closed it does not show up, because requests for quotes have ended. It will also not show up if the project is frozen, which means requests for quotes have temporarily been stopped.

How do I add a Special Offer?

Simply click on the "Specials" page and click on "Add a Special" or go here.

What if I can't make an accurate quote? Can I just estimate how much I will charge for the project?

YES - although your estimate should be as close to the final offer as possible. If there is not enough info, send the Customer a message and ask additional questions before placing your quote. RenovateDirect are not going to hold you to your quote, but remember that Customers might become angry when the work turns out to be a lot more expensive than the original quote. You then run the risk of receiving a bad review, which will be seen by all Customer and Service Providers viewing your Profile.

Are the Quotes on RenovateDirect legally binding ?

NO - Quotes generated through RenovateDirect are not legally binding, due to the nature of the work needed, Service Providers can only make accurate quotes once they have visited the customer sites. A quote placed by a Service Provider should only be seen as an estimate based on the description of the project - final quotations must be done directly between the Service Provider and the Customer outside of RenovateDirect, as per the Service Providers normal channels

When do you charge your subscriptions and how much will it be?

Registered Service Providers are required to sign a debit order with us, which will run on the first of each month. Please speak to our Sales team for details on Subscription fees.

GENERAL

How does this work?

After signing up, you can open a project and provide all the details of the work you want. We then send out an email to all our Registered Service Providers and ask them to give you a call - How cool it that ? No more phoning around, no more wasting your time, just post it and we will get them to respond. Service Providers will also be able to view your project and quote on it online, so you can track and compare your quotes right here.

Why do I have to choose the amount of days until my project needs to be done?

There needs to be an end to every project, to leave room for new ones. But you can extend your project any time you want.

Can I change the information I provided about my project?

Unfortuantely you can only change the Project description, if you have made a mistake and need to correct Region, City/Town or Expertise required, then you will have to cancel the Project and create a new one.

No, you will have to open a new project.

What does it mean if my project is frozen?

This means the ending date you chose for the project has past. No Service Providers can place any new quotes, you must either select a Service Provider or extend the project.
